Oh my God! Its truly her....Dr.Joe Odumakin. This is truly my day, she heard of my story ,cut short her visit to Ilorin just to see me!! Thank you so much Doctor...promised to help ease my pains anyway she can!! All my troubles started when I was first diagnosed for Leukemia and then Prostate palaver set in!! The choices I have to make are nerve wracking...surgery to permanently rid of the discomfiture by doing something to my testicles...castration..that is my layman view or I get placed on drugs, for two years, without a guarantee that it will be a complete success at the cost of a 150,000 Naira by monthly!! I have done the Biopsy , this is to confirm the positiveness of whether its cancerous or not, and then commence with the next procedure!! If only I could be able to abroad and seek for more medical attention! Without doubt some thing more positive I can get without going through rigours of a possible " CASTRATION!!! The bottom line is that I NEED HELP financially to be able to do so!! Dr.Odumakin I am a in quagmire!!! Leukemia. Prostrate.. What, what do I do I do? Am age 67, retired, on a meagre salary that dies not as at when due, with a houshol to support!!! If only kind hearted Nigerians, the Government can HELP!!!!! Sadiq Daba.

SADIQ ASKS:

"Azuka Why Must This Happen To Me?"

"Azuka..how yonder? Are you just waking up, about going to bed, heading for the kitchen? Am confused with American timelines: east coast, west coast, etc!! So, what time zone are on now...that will in how I greet you...good morning, afternoon ,evening or good night!!! Doing the best out of a bad situation, Mani came over with a camera crew from Channels Television. Hope I didn't get off focus in pouring out my annoyance at the Nigerian Elite, Politicians and what have you, who only see us as clowns!! Must confess, I was indeed angry......must I go cap in hand to solicit for help...turn myself to a beggar looking for crumbs from the Masters table!!! I ask myself what have those being flown abroad or offered quality medical back home here done, that we have not done!!! We have entertained, educated, set most of Government s' policies on the front burner...creating awareness... getting the people to buy in.....and what do we get in return? Nothing..nothing.... Its so sad..when I remembered how many of them I had cause to interview, played them up to the gallery... quite a lot of them out there Legislative and Executive arms of Government ...Federal and States!! Azuka, why must this happen? Must I die before some joker start singing my praise... All I ask ...a little HELP at the time of our need.....my primary surgery comes up in maybe two weeks from today... WHAT DO I DO!!! Azuka, I am a complete wreck.....God bless for where I am now could have been WORSE....bills,bills and more bills..you buy everything from toilet rolls, plaster, paracetamol, surgical gloves and list goes on and on...drives one crazy!!! Just confused Azuka..that is my state of mind right now....some promises you take with a pinch of salt...never meant well...its like put me on the list too..but you never get to see them when the chips are down!!!"

Help! Boy, 5, needs N4.5m for bladder surgery

— 12th November 2017

By Chinenye Ezenwa and Rebecca Koluwabo
Looking at Temitope Apansile, one would think that he is a boisterous child, but he is not. In a short while, he would become uncomfortable, holding onto his diaper as a sign that it had filled up with urine and needed to be changed.
The five-year old not only urinates on his body but also passes through a lot of discomfort to do it. This frequent and uncontrollable urinating is a sign of ill health. His father has been taking him to various hospitals in search of a cure but his efforts have been futile. Temitope needs surgery to stay alive.
At the moment, the boy is out of school; he has long been withdrawn from the rest of his peers because of his condition. His father, Wale Apansile, had to withdraw him from school when his condition worsened.
Wale, a bricklayer, has been taking care of his son after his wife left him two years ago due to their son’s condition. He has also been compelled to move into his mother’s house at Akute, as he could no longer pay his rent.
Recounting the painful ordeal, Wale said his son had a malfunctioning bladder and this made him to urinate uncontrollably. He said Temitope only ate light food like pap and noodles.
“If he eats something hard, it would not digest quickly; rather he would have stomach ache. When he takes drugs, it would not digest; it would be seen from his affected scrotum,” he said.
Stressing the severity of his son’s condition he said his urine never came out from his penis but dropped uncontrollably form his separated scrota. He said the boy used about seven sanitary pads daily.
Right now, Temitope needs his scrotum stitched for it is swollen due to excessive urine, which drops from it rather than passing through his penis. This has affected his bladder.
“He can tell when he wants to defecate but not when he wants to urinate.
“I stopped him from going to school due to his worsening condition. I have spent everything I have; that is why I had to relocate to my mother’s house in Akute; I have financial constraints. I sometimes go to work with him or I leave him with my mother,” Wale Apansile said.
According to a letter signed by Dr. Alakoko Temitope, consultant in charge of the paediatrics surgery unit, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, the lad was diagnosed with a congenital defect of the lower anterior abdominal wall musculature and bladder known as bladder exstrophy with epispadia complex and this requires urgent medical intervention. The letter further stated that the boy needs N4.5 million for the surgery.
The doctor said, “This condition requires a multiple-staged surgical reconstruction for which he had the first stage repair on the 11th day of life. He will require at least two more staged reconstructions, but the parents have severe financial constraints hence have requested for this medical report to seek support. Kindly accord all necessary assistance.” Donations to save Temitope’s life can be sent to Apansile Wale, GTBank Plc, Account No. 0237910788. His father can be contacted on 08030688658
